What's New

Where to start -- there is soooo much to catch up on. First, when I started my business, a couple of years ago, I purchased my own domain and named it after my business (Digital Canvas). Then I moved this site one final time to my new domain. Of course, you already know it has moved, since you're here now and reading this. But I mention that as a preface to this next bit of information:

As some of you may have noticed, this website was down for about a week as the registration for my domain had expired, and the company that had sold it to me had gone out of business. Needless to say, it was a rather frustrating process of going up the chain of resellers to find one that could renew my domain name. However, I'm no longer going through a reseller and won't have to worry about this happening again. It costs a little more -- but I now have full control of my domain. So beware folks; a bargain may turn out to be a pain in the butt.

Now, as for other changes ...

I have taken my Portfolio section from this site and I'm in the process of moving it to my business site (www.thedigitalcanvas.net). I also plan to add more characters to the Comic Chat section. And, thanks to some input from a long time advocate for Comic Chat, Mermaid Elizabeth, I now know some of the authors of the character files list as "Author Unknown". So I can finally give those people their due credit for their work.

I apologize that I haven't updated this site for so long (although there's still a new joke every day in the Humor section), but I've had a lot of irons in the fire lately. In the "About Me" section, I said that "this will (hopefully) be the first of many Web Pages to come". Well, now it is just one of seven websites that I've done. The newest one is for a local business (that's been here for over 35 years) and is nearly complete and ready for it's public debut (I'll list the link here when it's finished). And, although this has been a bad time to start a new business, with the economy the way it's been, I've done some work building computers and setting up wireless networks for both my commercial and private customers. In fact, I am typing this on a very fast and powerful computer that I've built for myself from scratch. I've also gone back to school in preparation for getting my A+ and MCSE certifications. I've just taken the first test, for my A+ certification (and passed it by 60 points more than I needed) and now I'm getting ready to take the other one. So I've been fairly busy -- just not making a lot of money. However, I will be devoting more time to putting more content in this site, so stay tuned.

As you can see, I've moved this website to a new location. I did this for 2 reasons:

1. The pop-up advertisement windows, the Angelfire host had added, were really annoying!

2. I had just about run out of space! This is also the reason why I haven't added any new character files to the Comic Chat section -- even though that part of the site has been extremely popular.

So I have moved here, to my Earthlink site, which has a little more room (but not much more). But there is a method to my madness... The whole site has moved to Earthlink -- except the Comic Chat section. You'll still be able to access the Comic Chat section from the menu (as usual), but it will be physically located back on the Angelfire servers. Actually, this is pretty close to a win-win situation. Without the Comic Chat files (which comprise over ½ of the site's files) taking up space here on the Earthlink servers, I'll have more room for the expansion I've been wanting to do. Plus, with the whole Angelfire location devoted exclusively to the Comic Chat section, I'll be able to add more downloadable character files. Including the colorized versions of the basic characters, that come with the program. These are a must-have for anyone just starting out with Comic Chat.

That section will still have the annoying pop-up advertisement windows, but I think that most will consider it a good trade-off for getting more content. I hope you enjoy that and the improvements to the site, which have already begun (it's time to bring this puppy up to date!).

I've just finished the Comic Chat page. It gives the highlights on this great product, has links for the chat program itself, and the companion Character Editor program (for creating your own characters). Plus there are dozens of extra characters, that people have already created with the Editor, that I've made available for download (with a preview picture -- so's ya know what yer gettin'). Check it out!

I've just recently completed the cover graphics for the new CD called Fables of Betrayal by a Seattle band named Motug. The front cover is shown below, and the complete CD cover graphics can be seen in the Portfolio section.

I've also added a Portfolio section to show my graphic works -- particularly the things I've done with Photoshop.

I've added "Site Last Updated:" to the front page, to let people know when there is new stuff. (Thanks to all of you who have patiently returned
to the site to see when something new would be added.) I'm finished with the classes I've been taking at Bellevue Community College, and now have more time to devote to filling out some of the other parts of the site.
